Daily reading recorded in the Reading Log.
All homework for the half-term will be sent home in the second week for you to complete at your own pace.
We would love to see any and all work that your child does at home!
If you have any queries about the homework please don’t hesitate to ask.
Our topic this half term is Robin Hood.
In English we will be learning the story of Robin Hood and create some character profiles.
In Maths we will be looking at number and place value, addition and subtraction, shape, money and multiplication.
In our Topic work we will be learning all about Castles, Kings, Queens and Robin Hood.
Please continue to support your child’s learning at home by:
- Daily reading – this is essential to practice the skills taught in class, let us know in the Reading Record if you have any worries or want to share something amazing they’ve achieved in their reading.
- Number Bonds – to learn to rapidly recall number pairs that make 10 and 20 is a valuable skill.
- Times Tables – 2s, 10s, 5s and 3s.
We are always so pleased to see any work that your child may choose to do at home; please look at the ideas for Home Learning and see if you can work with your child to complete some of the suggested tasks sent home for each topic.
At Sherborne Primary, we follow the Letters and Sounds phonics scheme. We use the Oxford Reading Tree and Big Cats Phonics books as our reading scheme. If you have any questions about phonics or reading, please see Miss Porter.
