Parent Information

In the Foundation Stage we are developing positive relationships and an enabling environment for our unique children to have fun, learn through exploration and become creative critical thinkers.

Welcome to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).   Follow this Link to info on EYFS for Parents.

Please ensure your child has a PE kit in school at all times.

To keep uptodate with our current activities, events or timetable changes please ensure you look in their Green Book folder every night.

We are still collecting snack money. This is 50p per week or if easier please pay each half or full term.

We feel reading is a high priority in school, please read to your child every day. Sherborne Primary School follow the format and advice given in DfE Letters & Sounds. During last term we implemented a new strategy for changing books. Parents are now able to change their child’s books and games as they are ready to do so. However, please be mindful of the fact that the list of books, you work through, have been ordered to cover both key word learning and to some extent the learning of sounds. This means that you should follow the order of the list to ensure your child will practice these key words and sounds as we learn them. Please stay every morning, if possible, and observe and take part in Stay & Play before the bell goes for school as it will help your child settle in school.

Internet safety is always important and the children will continue to work on this during the year. Click below to see a copy of our internet safety rules.
