At Sherborne Primary School, we value each child as an individual with a unique potential for learning. Our vision is to grow positive, well rounded, confident individuals who aspire to achieve their full potential whilst showing kindness and compassion for themselves, each other and the world around them.
Sherborne Primary School will fulfil this by nurturing each child through an engaging and bespoke curriculum, where knowledge is at the core; enriching and enlivening the standards set out in the National Curriculum.
Our school culture is built on positive reinforcement and relational practice, ensuring children feel connected, respected, and valued. Behaviour expectations are consistently reinforced, and children are supported to understand and regulate their emotions.
Our school ‘ABC’ vision remains fundamental to our ethos:
Our school rules are set out below. These have been agreed by the children, staff and Academy Committee as a whole school, consistent approach:
Our ABC vision and curriculum are firmly underpinned by our core values, which are central to everything we do across all aspects of school life. These values are embedded within our curriculum and are regularly reinforced through assemblies and collective worship. As part of our two-year rolling programme, we focus on one value each half term, ensuring depth and consistency in learning.
Our six core values help to foster a supportive community where pupils feel safe, confident, and ready to embrace new challenges with courage. In line with our child-centred approach, teachers tailor the teaching of these values to suit the needs of their individual classes, ensuring they are meaningful and relevant for every learner.
Our values are:
| Autumn 1 | Autumn 2 | Spring 1 | Spring 2 | Summer 1 | Summer 2 |
| Kind | Honest | Resilient | Curious | Responsible | Brave |
When shaping our curriculum our staff team decided our curriculum will:
Create a spark and wonder for learning in all environments
The below table shows how our SAST and School Values align with our School Vision and the Ofsted Framework. We believe that these partnerships are fundamental to our growth as a community and the ability to enable our pupils to flourish.
