Hello, my name is Stephanie Beatson and I am proud to be the Mental Health Lead at Sherborne Primary School. My role is to support the emotional wellbeing of all our children, families, and staff. We believe that good mental health is the foundation for happy, resilient, and successful learners — and that includes supporting the wellbeing of parents and carers too.
If you ever have any worries about your child’s mental health, or your own, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’re here to listen and help you find the right support. Together, we can make sure every child and family in our community feels safe, heard, and supported.
Below are some useful resources for parents and carers:
Young Minds Parents Helpline — Support and advice for parents worried about a child’s mental health.
Mind — Information about mental health for children, young people, and families.
NHS Every Mind Matters — Tips and resources to help support your own mental wellbeing and your child’s.
Childline — Free, confidential help for children and young people.
Samaritans — Free 24-hour support for anyone struggling to cope.
Please remember: you are not alone — we’re here to help.
We use the SCARF programme as a whole-school approach to wellbeing, supporting children’s emotional health, relationships and personal growth. Through regular lessons, assemblies and everyday interactions, SCARF helps our pupils develop resilience, empathy and the skills they need to manage challenges and thrive in our modern world.
